The Grayling
Research Trust
1st
International Conference on the Grayling. Organised by the Grayling Research
Trust
11-14 July 2006
Call
for papers
This will be the first international conference on grayling.
As such, it will cover all aspects of grayling, including its biology,
its ecology and its management. The conference will provide a suitable
forum for a full interchange of ideas which we hope will lead to more
enlightened management of grayling stocks.
We hope to attract presentations from across the range of the European grayling
(Thymallus thymallus) and the other grayling species. We intend that a wide
range of interests, including scientists working on grayling and those responsible
for the management of grayling stocks are active participants.
It is intended that a full peer-reviewed proceedings of the meeting will be
published by the following autumn (2007).
We are inviting those interested in presenting a paper to submit titles and
brief abstracts of the intended content for consideration by the organisers.
Both oral and poster presentations will require an abstract. The time allocated
for each presentation will generally be 25 minutes, followed by a 5 minute
question/discussion period. Try to make your abstracts readable for people
outside your field of expertise. You will be responsible for all grammatical
errors.
The following outline programme gives an indication of what we anticipate the
topics of the main sessions might be, and will be revised once we have confirmation
of those wishing to present papers.
